A big Happy Birthday and a warm hug from my side to you. You've been an intelligent friend to a stupid girl like me. Have managed to counsel me every time I've needed somebody by my side. I know you can't say the same about me though. I agree that there have been umpteen times when you've wanted a friend and I've been absconding. But I can't tell you how much you mean to me. I cherish all our school memories, our theme ( not to be named) parties, lunch breaks, sleepovers - everything is so damn special to me. Will always envy you for scoring full marks in Geography. Not to forget, you're already a dentist! My ugly teeth will need you soon. I hope you gift me free dentures when I'm 70. I miss Petal, you, saa and me having a fun time together :( You're one of the prettiest girls I've known. So much ego massage should be enough, right? Ha ha! I love you like a crazy friend. I clearly remember how I met you when you were just 15 n bubbling with riot of hot topics to touch on to.. the BOF n FFF chat rooms n message boards were your thoughts n being a "Agony Aunt" was so prominent.. I used to wonder what is this girl writing, I dint think you were 15 (seriously).. n then one day in the chat room you did come in n midst of all that you said something to me which I dint like.. I was scandalized.. coz no one dared to speak to me like that (blah, blah) after giving you a Royal Ignore for 5 mins .. u realized that "Her Highness" dint like it:p.. n u said sorry n that was it.. m sure you woudnt hv remembered that.. but I knew you were not what you were showing..

We did have a common friend which made it easier for us to be more than just good friends.. its been years now n m happy that I made that call to make you feel allright.. there are things which you only know about me n same with me.. Hope this friendship remains with us thoughout our lives.. Love you just the way you are, sweet, caring, full of life n stay very beautiful !!

Dear Nupur,
Hap Hap Happy Birthday!!!
i wont be doing the usual niceties that people write in birthday letters, coz i think you and i are far past that stage of friendship. i will, however, using the best skill at my disposal, that is my memory, remind you of some instances we may have forgotten about, or just not thought about in recent times...


so the first is the fact that you were the only person who DID NOT think i was a snob on meeting me for the first time. from the first time itself, we weren't exactly best friends, but we got along very well.


this takes me to the second, a funny instance, the time you, along with 2 other people, came over to my place, and answered a wrong number for HDFC bank, and told the caller that the lady he was calling for was bathing and getting ready to go clubbing. the caller, not surprisingly, was rather scandalized, i remember. this incident is particularly special, coz it involved just us. the other donkeys hadn't a clue about it :P


another little memory, by the end of Xth standard, you and i realized we had a lot in common, music, guitar, singing, poetry. hell! even our voices were similar, chandni's sister confused between the 2 of us on the phone... later of course, we were to have a bigger interest to share... we just didn't know it yet :P


i happened to go through our pictures from school recently, and remembered that we had very good reason for deciding to never show them to anybody :P but even then, you had a dazzling smile :) your loud hysterical laughter came to be something unique about you... i mention this coz in the recent times i haven't heard you laugh like a maniac, for whatever reasons... why i say this here, on this happy occasion, is coz i wish you a life time of crazy laughter, the one that was always so contagious, the one that is etched in our memories, the one that did not care about time or place, and hopefully won't in the future... the one that is spontaneous.


finally, since i am best at the emotional crap, i must tell you how much i miss you. our secrets, our disagreements, our clash of *ahem* 'interests'... i miss it all... i'd rather have you pissed at me but meet you, than not meet you at all...


but then, our friendship has been through thick and thin, quite literally, and so the distance is really no biggie :)
